Jean-Luc Dubois (Arkema – MMAtwo partner & WP2 Leader) contributed to the development of a new serious game, the Great Adventures with Materials: Education for a Recycling Society (GAMES).
This mobile game, developed by the Department of Chemical Engineering of KU Leuven (Belgium) aims to increase the awareness of the importance of recycling and the separation steps that precede it.
By addressing the general public, youngsters and children and by raising enthusiasm for Science and a Recycling Society, GAMES is in accordance with MMAtwo final purpose.
“The challenge in the development of any recycling value chain is to be able to collect enough material to be able to build a plant with sustainable economics. This is even more true for high value materials such as plastics materials because relatively smaller volumes have been produced than for the commodity plastics. I expect that the serious GAMES will contribute, with fun and entertainment, to educate the next generation with basic principles of good design and recycling practices”. Jean-Luc Dubois
