Delta Glass is a manufacturer of cast acrylic sheet and belongs to the Polyplastic group in Rotterdam. The production facility is located in Tholen (Netherlands) and has a yearly production capacity of 5 KTA. Delta Glass works in 3 shifts from Monday till Friday and produces mainly clear or tinted sheets, using glass panels as a mould. The products are PMMA sheets in size of 2600*1600mm in several thicknesses ranging from 2 – 15 mm. Sheets are mainly for captive use and send to Polyplastic where the sheets are cut, printed, thermoformed and glued in customized ready products. Major products are PMMA windows for the caravan /motorhome industry and PMMA doors for cooling equipment in Retail. Polyplastic is the market leader in Europe for acrylic windows in caravans and motorhomes.
Role in the Project
The ultimate goal for Delta Glass as member of this consortium is to produce clear caravan windows out of recycled scrap PMMA. Therefore Delta Glass is involved in collecting scraps, involved in the quality specification of rMMA as a raw material to produce sheets and involved in the analyses of the obtained quality of PMMA sheet.
